Rough Beginnings

Shattering Shackles started as a vision in the minds of our leadership, with Brooke and Stephanie having experienced a loved one being incarcerated and experiencing that loss and the isolation that comes with being a child of an incarcerated parent. Their passions grew and in Fall of 2020 with the help of an enthusiastic lawyer to be Gabriel, the vision was able to come into fruition. With the help of FSU students, donors, and the community, we hope to grow Shattering Shackles to be a driving force in the fight to help families with incarcerated loved ones.
